Welcome

A while ago, I chanced upon a lucky find in my local Oxfam bookshop.  I have found it a brilliant source for material to help in my degree.

Anyway, on this particular visit I chanced upon a book called 'A Lost Roman Road  Reconnaissance of the South West' by Bernard Berry.  Published in 1963,  the book is a record of Bernard's personal journey tracing the 'lost' section of the Roman road linking Poole Harbour with the city of Aquae Sulis (modern Bath).

I have read the book on a few occasions with great interest.  Especially when, even today, on modern maps, the road appears as incomplete.  It is also interesting to note that we don't even know where the road entered Bath, it is hypothesised that the road runs through Combe Down and travels down Ralph Allen Drive (or very near to it)
